According to Anesdor, the motorbike buy and sell market is growing. Purchasing from an individual instead of a company is getting into a really interesting alternative. But…do you know what steps to follow for selling a motorbike with an integrated Mapit?
In this article, we show you the procedure to sell your old motorbike without problems and making sure the processes are properly done.
Motorbike with Honda Mapit
First of all, an agreement between the buyer and the seller is needed. It is a basic requirement between the two parts in order to transfer the ownership of the bike with the integrated Honda Mapit.
When the buy-sell agreement is reached, in order for the buyer to use the Honda Mapit device, the next steps must be followed:
The buyer or seller will have to contact Honda Mapit through the email email@example.com attaching the ownership swap document in order to unlink its previous device user
In order to change the reference dealer that the motorbike has assigned, it has to be communicated to Honda Mapit by mailing to firstname.lastname@example.org so the process can be done. It is important to take into account that Honda Mapits can only be linked to official Honda dealers.
It is also possible that the dealer directly informs Mapit about the selling transaction. This is the case in which both the buyer and the seller have already informed the dealer about the selling process and this will provide the information to change the name of the device.
Sign up in Honda Mapit:
Once Mapit has linked the device to the buyer, he will receive an email confirming the name change.
The new motorbike owner just has to wait up to 24 hours for the service to be activated to his name. He will then have a year subscription to the Honda Mapit service of 39.95€ (annual payment and renewal).
It is very important to ride the motorbike once the device has been linked in order to get movement alerts, information and control over the routes.
